The Duoma in Sienna

Cathedral de Santa Maria- built in 1215-1263

The inside makes one dizzy with its black and white striped pillars.
The floor is gorgeous with etched and inlayed marble. They where working on it while i visited. there is one part of the floor in the center of the church that I wanted to see. The theme was the life of St Elijah- I found out they keep it covered, only showing it between August and October because it is so fragile.
I lit a candle here for my family and friends :)

The angles reminded me of some little children I know...one has the mischievous face of Klaus ;)
